ART THERAPY
 in Manchester

Create. Connect. Heal — From Within.

Hello, I’m Chloé,  a fully qualified and HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist, offering in-person art therapy in Manchester for children, teens, adults, and older adults. My practice is grounded in the belief that creativity is a powerful tool for healing, especially when words feel hard to find.

I work from an attachment-based, trauma-informed and person-centred approach which basically means I offer a safe, supportive relationship where we move at your pace, with curiosity and care, exploring the roots of your experiences and allowing your unique needs and story to lead the way.

What Is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a powerful, research-based and peer-reviewed form of psychotherapy that uses creative processes like drawing, painting, collage or sculpture to support emotional wellbeing and healing. You don’t need to have any experience with art this isn’t about creating something perfect, it’s about expressing yourself in ways that feel meaningful.

Through the art-making process, we bring more awareness to what might be happening internally by connecting with the subconscious, allowing you to feel more in control of thoughts, emotions and behaviours that may be impacting your daily life. This approach can reach parts of us that talking therapies haven’t been able to fully access.
Art-making in a safe therapeutic relationship supports emotional and physiological healing by calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and helping the brain process and integrate difficult experiences (Malchiodi, 2020; Siegel, 2010).

What Can Art Therapy Help With?

People come to art therapy for many reasons, sometimes with clear goals, and sometimes with a sense that something within needs space to be heard.

It can support you through:

  • Anxiety, stress, or overwhelm

  • Trauma, PTSD, grief or loss

  • Emotional dysregulation or burnout

  • Low self-esteem, shame or inner critic patterns

  • Neurodiversity and sensory processing

  • Life transitions, identity shifts or feeling stuck

What to Expect in a Session

Every session is shaped around you. If preferred, we begin and end with gentle grounding rituals to support emotional safety. You’ll have access to a range of art materials, and we’ll focus on what is needed for you that day. Talking is always welcome, but never required.

You’re free to explore, pause, reflect or simply be.
This space is here for you, to create, connect and heal.

My Approach

Alongside the creative work, I gently integrate:

  • Attachment theory

  • Inner child and inner critic work

  • Grounding tools and nervous system regulation

  • Guided drawing and sensorimotor art therapy techniques

  • A steady, respectful therapeutic relationship

You don’t need to come with all the answers, just a willingness to explore.

Ready to say hello?

If you’re exploring art therapy in Manchester, or seeking a new way to understand and support your emotional wellbeing, I’d love to offer a space that is creative, grounded and kind.

👉 When you feel ready, you can complete the referral form, and I’ll be in touch gently to guide you through the next steps. Or, if you'd like some more information please check out my frequently asked questions.

Art Therapy Testimonials

'Our young teen has been seeing Chloe weekly for Art Therapy for nearly two years and we have been so pleased with his progress. Chloe’s approach has been intuitive and patient, taking cues from our child and moving forward at his pace and being responsive to his needs in the moment.  This truly child-centred approach is what had been missing in our previous attempts at therapy, and what has created a safe environment for growth. Chloe has been an integral and valued part of our family’s mental health journey.'
